Now that August is over, we’ve got less than 9 months until the big day- which is pretty crazy!
August was actually a pretty productive wedding month!
First up, as you may recall I said yes to my dress! It was such a fun shopping experience, I can’t wait for it to come in so I can put it on again! Last month, we also found bridesmaid dresses, at Nordstrom of all places. I think everyone is pretty happy, they look awesome, we were able to get them off the rack, AND they’re totally re-wearable. Win-win-win!
I finally signed a contract with the makeup artist who will do makeup for me, and most of the bridal party. I have a trial scheduled for next month that I’m looking forward to. I still need to find a hairstylist for the big day, gotta get rolling on that.
We also got around to booking our engagement photos for October. It’s been a while since we signed our photography contract but I’m excited to finally get them going. Since our ceremony and reception are in the suburbs, we thought it might be a good chance to take some photos downtown. I’m hoping to get some skyline shots, and also a few beach/water/sunset shots! To prepare, I’ve been going through my Wedding & E-Photo idea Pinterest board to pull out a few of my favorites, thought I’d share my vision with you all.

I’ve also been toying around with incorporating some giant balloons:
If the leaves are turning, with the weather we’ve been having I couldn’t even begin to guess if they’ll be turning colors or completely off the trees by our session. If they’re turning, I’d like to try and get a few pictures with the fall foliage: Lets see, we also finally got the wedding website up and running! I debated sharing a link here, but have decided against it. I’ve made a very conscious effort to keep my last name off of all things blog related, just because it’s so unique. I like to keep some things private! Anyway, I can tell you that it’s such a relief to be done, seeing as it only took oh.. 6 months. Getting the website done, meant that I could put our out of state family save the dates in the mail. They’ve been stamped and addressed since April, just waiting for the website to be done.
Here’s what I’ve got to work on in the next few weeks:
- Hair stylist
- Honeymoon
- Start our music lists for DJ
- Fingerprint tree
- Limo/transportation
- Photo-booth
- Videographer – we need to decide what we want to do with this
- Get my ring cleaned
- Dance lessons
